		<description>I am in my early 50's, 5 'o and I have been recently diagnosed with Metabolic syndrome and a sluggish thyroid. I have been trying to lose weight for many years but unsuccessfully. I have eliminated eating white processed foods and concentrate on a low glycemic diet and healthy fats only diet.  (pre diabetic).  I got discouraged after working out for 8 to 10 months (3 hours total per day) doing cardio and weight conditioning but did not lose more than 5 pounds.  I am willing to start back again.  But I want to do it differently and do it based on my health conditions.  I used to have an H shape body type with all the extra weight gain in just my stomach, I know that I am an apple shape .  Based on this info, what workout program should I follow and what should be my calorie intake per day? What foods do you recommend for metabolic syndrome patients?  Hope I can get a clear answer. Not even my doctor knows what to tell me.  I have tried everything and no results.</description>
